Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how FASTMOVE PROPERTY LTD, trading as FastMove Property (“FastMove”, “we”, “us” or “our”), collects, uses and protects your personal information when you enquire about selling your property through our website at fast-move.co.uk. It describes your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

FASTMOVE PROPERTY LTD, trading as FastMove Property, is the data controller responsible for your personal information. We are registered in Scotland under company number SC848591, and our registered office is at 35/2 Market Street, Galashiels, Scotland, TD1 3AF.

You can contact us by email at team@fastmoveproperty.com or by telephone on 0333 880 0197.

2. Information we collect

When you submit an enquiry through our website, and during any follow-up correspondence, we may collect:

  • Your full name
  • Your telephone number
  • Your email address
  • Your property address and postcode
  • Your property type and the number of bedrooms
  • Your property condition and any features you tell us about
  • Your reason for selling
  • Your preferred selling timescale
  • Information you supply in messages, telephone calls or subsequent correspondence
  • Lead status and internal notes relating to your enquiry
  • Technical information such as your IP address, browser, device and website activity, where permitted
  • Lead-attribution information, including the landing page, referring page, and UTM source, medium, campaign, term and content parameters
  • Advertising click identifiers where present, including fbclid, fbc, gclid, gbraid and wbraid
  • The campaign, advert, platform or referring source associated with your enquiry, where available
  • Privacy-minimised first-party diagnostic information about the website journey, such as landing-page visits, engagement and scroll milestones, enquiry-form opening, form steps reached or completed, phone or email link clicks, device category and campaign metadata
  • Your estimated property value
  • Whether your property has an outstanding mortgage and, where provided, the approximate outstanding mortgage balance
  • The price you would consider accepting for a quick property sale
  • Your progress through the enquiry questionnaire, including whether it was completed

Attribution details submitted with your enquiry may be recorded as part of the lead even where you have not accepted optional analytics or advertising cookies. This does not automatically place a cookie on your device or activate Meta or Google tracking.

We also use privacy-minimised first-party diagnostic measurement to understand whether the website and enquiry journey are functioning effectively. This diagnostic system uses an ephemeral in-memory session identifier and server-side event records. It does not place analytics or advertising cookies, does not use localStorage or sessionStorage for the diagnostic session, and is not intended to contain your name, email address, telephone number or property address.

Progressive enquiry forms and incomplete enquiries

Some of our website enquiry forms collect information progressively as you move through individual questions. When you provide your property address and telephone number and continue, we may create an enquiry record using the information you have supplied. As you answer additional questions, including those relating to your contact details, property circumstances and potential sale, we may update that existing record. You do not need to complete every question for us to retain information you have already provided.

We may use the contact details you have supplied to respond to your property enquiry, discuss your circumstances and provide information about a potential cash purchase offer, including where you have not completed the remaining questions. We do not treat an incomplete enquiry as permission to send unrelated marketing communications.

The lawful bases identified above are not automatically established in every case; they depend on the particular circumstances of each enquiry and our actual processing activities.

4. Who your information may be shared with

We share personal information only where necessary, and we do not sell or supply your personal information to unrelated businesses for their own marketing. Information may be shared with:

  • Base44 and website-hosting or technical service providers that support the operation of this website

  • Email, communications and IT service providers
  • Google Analytics and Meta, but only when you have given the relevant cookie consent
  • Solicitors, accountants, insurers and other professional advisers
  • Regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or public authorities where required
  • Carefully selected property-buying, funding or transaction partners, where reasonably necessary to assess or progress your property enquiry

Where selected partners help us assess or complete a transaction, relevant enquiry information may be shared with them for that purpose. We remain responsible for how your personal information is handled within the arrangements we control.

Information from partially completed enquiries may be processed through these systems for enquiry management, record updates and follow-up communications. Incomplete enquiries are not sold or shared with unrelated businesses for marketing purposes.

5. International transfers

Some of the technology providers we use may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens and the transfer requires protection under UK data protection law, we use appropriate safeguards, such as the UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or the UK Addendum to approved contractual clauses. Not every provider stores all information exclusively in the UK.

6. Retention

  • Enquiries that do not progress to a transaction will normally be retained for up to 24 months from the last meaningful contact, unless a longer period is reasonably required for a dispute, complaint or legal obligation.
  • This retention policy also applies to incomplete property enquiries. Information should not be retained longer than necessary for its intended purpose, and we periodically review whether incomplete enquiry records are still required.
  • Information connected with an agreed or completed property transaction may be retained for up to six years, or longer where tax, accounting or other legal requirements apply.
  • First-party diagnostic event records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to analyse website and campaign performance and troubleshoot the enquiry journey.
  • Analytics and advertising information is retained according to the applicable platform settings and cookie lifetimes described in our Cookie Policy.
  • After the relevant retention period, information is deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
  • Ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances
  • Ask us to restrict the processing of your information
  • Object to certain types of processing
  • Receive a copy of your personal information in a portable format, where applicable
  • Withdraw consent for consent-based processing at any time, including cookie consent

Withdrawing cookie consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that took place before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at team@fastmoveproperty.com. If you remain concerned about how we have handled your personal information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

8. Automated decisions

We do not make solely automated decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Your property information may be reviewed or used to help assess your enquiry, but a person is always involved in progressing and discussing any offer.

9. Security

We use access controls and appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, and access is restricted to those who need it. No method of transmitting or storing information over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be lost or breached, but we take reasonable steps to protect it.
